Recruiting Board - Column view
Column view is the default layout of your Recruiting Board. It sorts every saved player into a column for the position they were assessed for, with a count on each column header.
What you are looking at
One column per position — GK, RB, RCB, LCB, LB, CDM, CM, CAM, LW, RW, CF — running left to right. The number beside each position is how many players you have saved there.
Those counts are the point. A board with four right-sided centre-backs and nothing at left-back is telling you where your recruiting attention has actually gone, which is not always where you thought it went.
The cards
Each saved player shows:
- The player's name
- The position they were assessed for — the position you chose when running the report, not necessarily the one their club lists
- When the report was saved
- Added by — which member of your staff saved them
- View report — opens the full scouting report
- Remove — takes the player off the board
Position is per report, not per player
A player appears in the column for the role you were recruiting them into. Run the same player again for a different position and they can appear in a second column — deliberately, because a wide midfielder you are considering as a full-back is a different recruiting question in each column.
How to use it
- Read the counts before the cards. Empty columns are the most useful thing on the screen.
- Compare within a column, not across. Four centre-backs side by side is a real comparison; a centre-back against a striker is not.
- Check "Added by" when the board grows. If every card came from one coach, your research is resting on one person.
- Remove decisively. A board you have pruned is a shortlist; a board you have never pruned is just a list.
Column view or Field view?
Column view is for working — it shows every card at once and it is where you compare candidates and clear out the ones you have decided against. Field view is for seeing the class as a shape, which is the better view to open in front of your staff. Same players, same cards, two different questions.
