Using the Recruiting Board
The Recruiting Board is where the players you are seriously considering live. Reports answer "is this player worth pursuing?" — the board keeps track of who you decided yes on, and keeps that list in front of your whole staff.
Saving a player
Open a player's scouting report and click Save to Recruiting Board. They appear on your board immediately, filed under the position you assessed them for.
Save as many players as you want — saving costs nothing, exactly like running reports.
What is on a card
- The player's name and the position they were assessed for — the role you chose when running the report, not necessarily the one their club lists
- When the report was saved
- Added by — which member of your staff saved them
- View report — opens the full scouting report
- Remove — takes the player off the board
The three views
All three show the same saved players, organised differently. Switch between them at the top of the board.
- Column view — one column per position, with a count on each. The working view: compare candidates, spot the positions you have neglected, prune. See Column view.
- Field view — the same players laid out on a pitch, each position showing how many you have saved. The view to open in front of your staff, because a recruiting class is a shape. See Field view.
- Staff view — grouped by which coach saved each player. Useful when several coaches are scouting in parallel. See Staff view.
Removing a player
Click Remove on the card. It takes them off the board for the whole program, since the board is shared — so remove players you have decided against, not ones you are merely unsure about.
Nothing is lost. The report stays in the Report History of whoever ran it, and you can save the player again at any time.
Your board is shared with your staff
The Recruiting Board belongs to your program, not to an individual account. Everyone on your staff sees the same board, and a player saved by one coach is on it for everyone. That is what makes Staff view meaningful — and it means the board works as your shared shortlist rather than something each coach rebuilds.
Report History works the other way round: it is personal to each coach. Looking is private; saving is the act that makes a player your program's business.
Reports stay current on their own
Every report re-generates automatically every 14 days. Seasons move, players get dropped or promoted, and a report you ran in March should not still be telling you March's story in May. You do not need to re-run anything to keep a boarded player's information fresh.
Getting the most out of it
- Board early, board wide. Saving is free and reports are unlimited — use the board as your working shortlist, not a final list.
- Use Field view for the conversation, Column view for the work. One shows your staff what the class looks like; the other is where you compare and prune.
- Compare, do not just collect. The value of the board is seeing targets next to each other — an 87 and a 91 side by side is a more useful conversation than either report alone.
- Re-open the report before you contact anyone. The card is a summary; the decision lives in the full record.
