Youth players and safeguarding
A large part of international recruiting involves players who are still minors when you first look at them. VeriScout indexes youth competitions, which means our reports contain records of under-18s — and that carries obligations for us and, once you open a report, for you.
What we hold
Match records from official league and federation sources: competitions, clubs, seasons, appearances, starts, goals and assists. A youth player's report is built from the same kind of verified record as a senior professional's, and it is treated with more care rather than less.
Why youth records are in the product at all
Because leaving them out would make the product worse at the thing it exists for. A 19-year-old's youth seasons are what make their trajectory legible — whether they climbed, whether they kept their place, whether the step into senior football went well. Without those seasons you would be judging a player on one year of evidence.

What this means for you
- Treat reports as confidential working documents. They are for your program's recruiting decisions — not for posting, forwarding to third parties, or sharing outside your staff.
- Do not use VeriScout as a contact route. We are a record of what happened on the pitch, not a directory. Contact with a minor should go through their club, their family, and your own institution's rules.
- Follow your own compliance rules. Your institution and association have contact, recruiting and eligibility regulations for minors. Nothing in a report changes them, and a report is not permission.
If a player or a parent asks about their data
Send them to hello@veri-scout.com, or to the Notice to players page. Questions about what we hold and requests concerning a player's own record are ours to handle — you should not have to answer for our database, and it is better for everyone that those requests reach us directly.
If something looks wrong on a young player's record
Tell us, the same as for any record. Accuracy matters most where a person is least able to correct the record themselves. See When you think the record is wrong.
